
Timothy James Bagford A.K.A. "Pops", age 61 of Charleston, SC, formerly of Fairborn, OH, passed away June 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born February 26, 1949 in Dayton, OH, the son of John Michael and Alice Mae (Boren) Bagford. He was preceded in death by his father; and infant brother, John Michael. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Abate of Beavercreek, OH; his three children, 27 year old son Vincent Bagford of Charleston, SC, 20 year old twin daughters, Amarett and Alice Noel Bagford of Beavercreek; his mother and step-father, Alice Mae Halle and Robert Halle of Fremont, IN; and brother, Barry Bagford of New Carlisle as well as many other cousins and in-laws. Timothy Bagford joined the U.S. Navy in 1969 and served his country in Vietnam. Assigned to the submarine U.S.S. Will Rodgers and later becoming a member of an Under Water Demolitions Team (U.D.T. Unit). He was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. Against all odds Tim overcame his injuries and many obstacles to become an entrepreneur of all sorts; Architect, Antique Dealer, Restaurateur, and Salesmen.
Need to say the least, Tim was a charismatic, fearless, positive, carefree, loyal, loving, protective, and generous Husband, Father, and Friend. Pops was a modern day Renaissance Man whom, lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He lived with a Genuine American Spirit; one who forged new roads, gave opportunities to many, set the example, and instilled the qualities it takes to succeed. Tim believed Life's true Destination was not the Destination itself, but the JOURNEY! We will always remember you through our memories, and most of all love and God Bless You!!
The family will receive friends on Wednesday June 16, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton- Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Ohio, where the funeral will be held on Thursday June 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM, Pastor Paul Santoro officiating. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
