Mark I. Berry, age 57 of Cedarville, passed away Thursday July 8, 2010 in Ft. Myers, FL.  He was born September 29, 1952 in Dayton, the son of Keith and Patricia Berry.  Mark was a graduate of Fairview High School, Class of 1970.  He retired at the rank of Captain from the Fairborn Police Department; was then Chief of Police at the Cedarville Police Department; and later Chief Deputy of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Irvin and Bessie Berry; and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Eva Sherer.  Survivors include his wife Rita of Cedarville; father and mother, Keith and Patricia Berry of West Milton; three sons, Matt (Sonja) Berry of Ft. Myers, FL, Scott (Brooke) Berry of Xenia,  Jon Berry of Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Carter and Colin Berry of Ft. Myers and Ashlynn and Camden Berry of Xenia; a sister, Connie (Bob) Woodall of West Milton; as well as numerous other brother and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and many friends.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 14, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday July 15, 2010 at 10:00 A.M.  Entombment with full honors will follow in the Byron Cemetery Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.
