Ruth M. McElroy, age 87 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday May 11, 2008.  She was born November 19, 1920 in Basil, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Gilmer) Messerley.  Ruth was a retired homemaker and a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Fairborn.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy McElroy; and a daughter, Mary Giovaniello, both of Fairborn.  Survivors include a son, Wayne McElroy of Fairfield, Ohio; and a grandson, Frank Giovaniello of Fairborn.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Rev. John Konz officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.  Private burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 821 N. Central Ave., Fairborn, OH 45324.
