Dewey R. Schley, age 83 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday July 25, 2010 in his residence.  He was born June 20, 1927 in Green Bay, WI, the son of the late Raimund and Emma Johanna (Schley) Schlegelmilch.  Dewey served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and followed with employment first with IBM and then U.S. Government civil service, retiring from Wright-Patterson AFB in 1988.  He was a charter member of Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn.  An avid Packers fan, he also enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, music, traveling, and sailing.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Werner and Reuben Schlegelmilch.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Emily (Schwarting); three sons, William “Bill” and wife Pam of California, David of Indiana, and Paul of Fairborn; granddaughters, Megan and Katharine Schley; a step-grandson, Brison Martin; as well as several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held on Friday July 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Green Bay.  A memorial service will be held on Friday August 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastors Craig Fourman and Sue Nelson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church building fund in his memory.  Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn and Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, Green Bay.
