Oscar James “Jim” Tingelstad, age 84 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday July 20, 2010 in the Hospice of Dayton.  He was born June 16, 1926 in Frazee, Minnesota, the son of the late Oscar M. and Emma E. (Garceau) Tingelstad.  Jim served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and followed with employment in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring after 25 years of service.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy in April of this year.  They were married on December 9, 1950.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin J. “Bud” Tingelstad; and two sisters, Maxine Anderson and Darlene Done.  Jim is survived by three sons, Richard Tingelstad and wife Isabelle of Twisp, Washington, James Tingelstad and wife Charlotte of Fairborn, Brett Tingelstad and wife Kim of Garden City, Michigan; five grandchildren, Leanne Henderson and husband Adam of Fairborn, Kevin Tingelstad and wife Rachel of Fairborn, Ashley Tingelstad of Garden City, Michigan, Austin Tingelstad of Garden City, Michigan, and Heather Reed and husband William of Hawaii; four great-granddaughters, Annaka Henderson, Faith, Alisha, and Emma Reed; and a great-grandson, Billy Reed.  Private services will be held by the family.  Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn.
