Lavodis Walton, age 93 of Fairborn, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 6, 2010 in the Hospice of Dayton.  She was born on November 14, 1916 in Cannel City, KY, the daughter of the late William G. and Ora (Haney) Nickell.  Lavodis was a 50 plus year member of the Fairborn Wright View Church of the Nazarene.  She loved her family and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and UK Wildcats basketball fan.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1982; an infant brother; brothers, Ventis and Denzil; and sisters, Loredith and Catherine.  She is survived by four children, Don (Jacquelyn) Walton of Huber Heights, Gary (Louise) Walton of Fairborn, Beverly (Paul) Zigmond of Fairborn, Sharon (Jim) Osborne of  Dayton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Perkins of Malone, KY, Elizabeth (Bill) McPherson of Fairborn; two brothers, Edsel (Della) Nickell of Fairborn, James (Rita) Nickell of Richmond, KY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her church family.  The family will receive friends on Sunday July 11, 2010 from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  A funeral service will be held on Monday July 12, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Wright View Church of the Nazarene, 370 W. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Pastors Vernon Hurles and H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
