Jess W. Young, Sr., age 80 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2008 in the Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 11, 1927 in Harriman, TN, the son of the late John W. and Rhodia (Connor) Young. Jess served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during WW II and followed with employment as a pressman with McCall Corp., retiring after many years of service. He enjoyed playing in the country and western band, Brothers & Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Tom; and two sisters, Ruby and Ruth. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Iolene; two children, Vicki Cooper of Fairborn, Jess “Jay” Young, Jr. of Beavercreek; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rhoda “Bea” Milner, Joan Green, Jackie Plunkett; a son-in-law, David Cooper; and his business partner and friend, Bill Cooper. The family will receive friends on Monday May 12, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2008 at 10:00 A.M., Jim Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens.
