Albert F. Thrash, age 88 of Xenia passed away peacefully at home March 23, 2026. He was born August 29, 1937 in Delta, Alabama, the son of the late Idus and Rosa (Sellers) Thrash. Albert proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959. He build a successful family owned and operated excavating company, Al’s Bulldozing and Excavating for over 50 years. He was respected in the community and built a reputation for honesty and hard work. Albert enjoyed playing cards, fishing and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Wilma J. Thrash; six brothers, Owens, Vinton, Grady, Eugene, Jerry and Doyle; son, Larry (Cathy) Thrash; and granddaughter, Abbi Thrash. He is survived by brother, John Thrash; son, Blake (Ginny) Thrash; daughter, Anita Smith; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Madden; Marisa Smith; Brayden Thrash; Austin Thrash, Jessica (Mike) Osborne; four great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. Albert was very loved and will be greatly missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday April 2, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. A private graveside will be held by the family.
