Alice "Faye" Mooney

Alice “Faye” Mooney, age 79 of Fairborn, passed away on November 3, 2026, on her own terms, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 19, 1947, in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Della Howard.

Faye will be remembered as a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the company of those she loved most. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading her Bible, watching horse races, dancing, and bird watching. Among the moments she treasured most were the times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her great happiness.

She also took pride in the roles she held in her community and among her friends. Faye was proud to serve as Madam President of the Fairborn Eagles, and she was also honored as Queen of her Red Hat Ladies Chapter. These accomplishments reflected her spirited nature, her warmth, and the enthusiasm she brought to the people and groups around her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mooney; and sister, Pauline Bowden. Faye is survived by her daughter, Trisha (Larry) Turkette; son, Brian Waddell; four grandchildren, Kathryn Turkette, Anthony James Turkette, Hannah Renee (Matthew) Kwong, Tyler Rae Combs; two great-grandchildren, William Ryan Meyers, Zoe Rose Meyers; brother, Ronnie (Deb) Howard; as well as extended family and friends.

A private service will be held by the family.
