Barbara Jean Benge

Barbara Jean Benge, age 90 of Springfield passed away November 24, 2021.  She was born October 25, 1931 in Pickneyville, Illinois, the daughter of the late William and Edna (Kroop) Weatherford.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fairborn.  For most of her life, Barbara took joy in caring of children. She enjoyed flowers, bird watching, movies and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Benge; two daughters, Pamela Benge, Linda Benge; six siblings, Lola, Dorothy, Ruby, Elsie, Manford, Clifford; and grandson, Karl Benge.  Barbara is survived by two daughters, Janet Benge; Pat (Chuck) Dorney; grandchildren; John Benge, Kyra Dorney, Eric (Whitney) Dorney, Kevin Dorney, Kraig Byrum, Kyle Byrum, Joshua Palmer, Steven Leonard, Tyler DeVos, Bailey DeVos, Trent Thomas, Isaiah Slepicka, Andi Quiniones, Sara Quiniones, Nick Quiniones; as well as extended family and friends.  A celebration of life will be held on Thursday December 2, 2021at 6:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service.
