Bessie J. Allum

Allum, Bessie Jane (Betty) age 98 passed away March 11, 2026. She was born June 8, 1927, in Jackson, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jake and Roseanne (Combs) Neace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ethan (Gene), sisters Madge Coomer, Genora Katirgis and Geneva Young, and brothers Ernest, Burnett, Fred, Arnett, Cash, Sid and Buck Neace.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Elsie Overbee, her children Adele Maas (Ric), Pam Wyatt (Rod), and Gary Allum (Alma), her grandchildren Angela Stull (Jeff), Jennifer Colson (Ty), Justin Stallard (Deanna), Robin Allen Weaver (Victor), Elisabeth Johns (Donnie), Jessica Boughton (Ian) and Josh Allum, her great-grandchildren Owen, Charlotte and Oliver Stull, Tj Colson, Renee Allen, Evan and Natalie Stallard, Malachi, Mackenzie and Natalie Johns and Ivy and Eli Boughton.

Betty’s passion was gardening. She spent as much time as possible outside tending her gardens. Betty was the recipient of multiple gardening awards including special recognition for winning the Fairborn Beautification Award for ten straight years.

Betty was a former member of University Baptist Church in Beavercreek. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Betty loved her neighborhood and special friends there. She will be dearly missed by all.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM, NOON, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324. The family will receive visitors from 11:00AM until the time of service, Pastor Gareth Allum officiating. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH.
