Billy S. Scoles

Billy Shane Scoles, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away on 19 October 2025. Bill was born on 20 November 1949 in Newark, Ohio.

He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his Harley, and everything about cars. He could repair just about anything that needed it, and he had a special talent for working on cars. He loved animals, especially dogs owning and training many throughout his life. Billy was a kind person. He loved deeply and took quiet pride in caring for and providing for his family. And we were the family he loved and cared for.

Bill married mom and immediately became a dad to five children. He had no idea what he was signing up for! Bill shaped himself into the father that we needed. He was a stalwart for five young children who needed a dependable, solid foundation upon which we could depend. And he loved his wife Linda, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. The family we made together shared laughs and love that would not have existed without him. Bill worked for 34+ years at Owens Corning in Newark, Ohio. A dedicated man, Bill was never late, never sick, and never missed time. He woke early, worked hard, and inspired his family with a tremendous work ethic. Bill never complained. Life provides us all with challenges and difficulties, but Bill met them all with grace. He never rattled or allowed life’s struggles to reach his family; he protected us and endured with dignity. Recently Bill told us that he “couldn’t have asked for a better family”. We couldn’t have asked for a better father. He was a fierce protector, a powerful storyteller, a dedicated dad, a hard worker, and the ultimate example for how to be a man.

He will be greatly missed. In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a funeral or ceremony. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that if you are so inclined, make a contribution to your local animal shelter in remembrance of Bill.
