Brent Alan Burris

Brent Alan Burris, aged 70 of Fairborn, OH, passed away, Friday, March 20, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 24, 1955, in Culver City, Los Angeles, CA, the son of the late James Leslie and Louella (Livesay) Burris.

He was a man whose life was rich with friendship, family, and a deep love for his community and passions.

Brent dedicated 30 years of his career to General Motors in Dayton, OH, where his commitment and hard work earned him a well-deserved retirement after a long and valued career. His professional life was just one part of the tapestry that defined him.

More than anything, Brent was family and friend oriented—the very definition of a great friend. Those close to him knew how much he treasured the time spent with loved ones. A true homebody at heart, he found joy in simple pleasures such as hosting cook outs, playing poker with friends, and sharing many lively evenings at Tickets Pub & Eatery alongside family and friends. The memories created there will surely be cherished by all who knew him.

A devoted sports fan, Brent followed the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes with unwavering enthusiasm, whether following football, basketball, or baseball. His passion for sports was matched only by his love of spending time with those he cared about, often enjoying a "cold" beverage in good company.

In his final years, Brent resided at the Danbury facility in Tipp City, where he was well cared for and where he found friendship among fellow residents and the attentive nursing staff. Those relationships brought him comfort and companionship that he deeply appreciated.

In addition to his parents, Brent is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Craig) Burris; and one child, Justin A. Burris. He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Burris; one granddaughter, Raegan Nales; one sister, Teri (De) Jennings; nephew, Jeremy (Tiffany) Jennings; niece, Jaime Jennings; a host of friends, and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 PM until the time of service, Pastor Eric D. Meade, officiating. Brent will be laid to rest with his parents in Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH, on a future date. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn, OH.
