Carolyn “Bonnie” Lavonne (Wright) Clifton, aged 82, of Fairborn, OH, passed away, Tuesday, February 17, 2026. She was born August 23, 1943, in Jamestown, OH, the daughter of the late Howard E. and Ruth B. (Sylvester) Wright.
Professionally, Carolyn made a significant impact as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) and home health aide. With passion and commitment, she worked in this field for many years, finding joy in serving and supporting the people she cared for. Her compassion and dedication were evident in all she did.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Carolyn, cherished her family deeply, always opening her home to celebrate holidays together. Her daughters and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and well-being. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, bringing warmth and lightheartedness to family gatherings and everyday moments alike.
Faith was an integral part of Carolyn’s life; as a Christian, she lived her values through her generous spirit. She was known for her charitable nature, frequently donating to various animal charities, including SISCA and Humane Society. Her love for animals extended to her beloved dog, Macy, who brought her great joy and companionship.
In her pursuits outside of work and family, Carolyn was an avid supporter of THE Ohio State University, relishing game days filled with football and basketball excitement. She especially loved the tOSU marching band. Furthermore, Carolyn was a talented artist who truly enjoyed drawing, sketching, and expressing herself through her art.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Mary Alice Sylvester; parents, grandchild, Heaven B. Crenshaw; two sisters, Jean (Bud) Downey, Veda Mae (Gerald) Matthews; brother, Edward (Shirley) Wright; and son-in-law, Phillip B. Crenshaw. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Spitler-Crenshaw, Melissa (Matt) Recio; three grandchildren, Chynna Spitler, Jordan Crenshaw, India Crenshaw; nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved dog, Macy Dee.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324. The family will receive guests from 5:00 PM until the time of service, Pastor June Fryman officiating. Interment will be held at 12:00 PM, NOON, the following day, Friday, February 27, 2026, at Old Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown, OH. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn, OH.
