Charles C. Mccartney, Jr.

Charles C. McCartney Jr, age 91 of Dayton passed away peacefully Monday May 3, 2021.  He was born June 29, 1929 in Masontown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Sr. and Opal (Payne) McCartney.  Charlie served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-49.  He enjoyed working, especially in the movie industry, and loved his pets.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie; stepson, Bernie Elworth Jr.; a brother, Warren and sister, Ruth Scarberry. Charlie is survived by his daughter, Cathy Stump; stepson, Robert Elworth; brother, William (Margaret) McCartney; sister, Linda Harris; grandchildren, Christina (Fabio) Rigato; Melissa Stump, Annette (David) Hoiles, Mark Stump Jr.; as well as extended family.  A graveside service will be held on Friday May 14, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at the Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.
