Cheryl Christina Wise, aged 81 of Fairborn, OH, passed away, Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was born on December 27, 1943, in Franklin Township, Adams County, PA, the daughter of the late James Russell and Edna Nuller (Barnhart) Zollars II.
Cheryl graduated from Waynesburg High School, PA, in 1962. She went on to marry her husband Jerry in 1964 in Washington, PA, where together they moved to Ohio in 1965 when Jerry enlisted in the USAF. She was not only a dedicated Air Force wife but also a proud resident of Fairborn, where she built deep and lasting ties throughout her life.
A passionate bowler and tennis player, she was a cherished member of a local bowling league for many years. Known for her hospitality, Cheryl frequently hosted family functions and holiday gatherings, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that brought her loved ones together. Her strength and nurturing nature extended into her love for pets, particularly dogs and cats. During Cheryl’s career she was employed with Time Warner Cable for 25 years before retiring in 2000.
After the passing of her husband, Cheryl found solace and companionship in the camaraderie of friends. From cruises to luncheons, Cheryl enjoyed socializing and had many friends in the community.
Cheryl's proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. She supported her sons Greg and Jeff through high school sports, then music ventures, then careers and families of their own. She took great pride in nurturing their growth and celebrating their achievements, leaving a legacy of love and dedication that will continue to inspire her family for generations.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Wise; son, Gregory “Greg” Wise; brothers, sisters, and dear friends. She is survived by a son, Jeff (Darlene Totten) Wise; six grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Chelsea, Courtney, Christina, Chloe; four great-grandchildren, John, Allen, Asher, Noelle; daughter-in-law, Erica Herbst Wise; extended family, and close friends.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held publicly after the new year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Day City Hospice. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn, OH.
