Clara Frances (Fran) Collinsworth, age 87 of Enon, passed away on July 30, 2026. She was born on August 31, 1938 in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Walter Sr., and Cova (Jones) Cantrell.

After graduating high school Fran moved to Dayton where she began her civil service career at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. For nearly 40 years, Fran would work in the Registrar's office as the Deputy Registrar at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).

Throughout the mid-'70s Fran enjoyed volunteering her services as a member of the Enon Jaycees, spending time involved in community service and civic outreach throughout Enon and the surrounding communities. In addition to her volunteer work, Fran loved to bowl and participated in numerous bowling leagues. She once bowled a perfect 300 game and for many years Fran's picture could be found hanging on the Wall of Fame at Fairborn Recreation Bowling Lanes. Another favorite pastime was tuning in to the familiar voices of Marty and Joe on 700 WLW Radio to follow the Cincinnati Reds, especially during the unforgettable days of the legendary "Big Red Machine." When baseball season rolled around, the sounds of the game could be heard coming from the transistor radio propped in the kitchen window so she could listen while she worked around the house.

Every winter, for nearly 20 years, Fran and her husband Kermit found happiness in their home away from home in Panama City Beach, Florida. During those winters Fran embraced the simple joys of life—reading, studying the Bible, thrift shopping, working crossword and sudoku puzzles, line dancing, and enjoying daily walks around the community while Kermit spent the days casting a fishing line into the Gulf waters.

Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Fran brought joy to family gatherings and celebrations. Whether singing a favorite hymn or a classic country tune, her voice reflected the warmth and kindness of her soul. Above all, she treasured time spent with family. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Faith was the foundation of Fran's life, providing strength, guidance, and hope through every season. A devoted member of Crosswalk Worship Center in Enon, she found great joy in worship, prayer, and serving others with a generous heart. Her unwavering trust in God was evident in the kindness, compassion, and grace she extended to everyone she met. The friendships and fellowship she shared within her church community were a cherished blessing, and her quiet example of faithful living leaves a lasting legacy of love, hope, and devotion.

In addition to her parents Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kermit; sister, Jewell Lee; three brothers, Elmo Cantrell, Walter Cantrell, Jr., Larry Cantrell; and brother-in-law, Tony Letuli. Fran is survived by her daughter, Angie (Matt) Campbell (Debary, FL); two grandchildren, Lauren Campbell (Charlottesville, VA), Colin Cambpell (Jacksonville, FL); two sisters, Freida (David) Bolin, Betty Letuli; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 11:00 am, Pastor Mark Decker officiating. Clara will be laid to rest next to her husband at Byron Cemetery.
