Dana Olivia Ingram Whitt, age 80, of Fairborn, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025. Her loving husband and daughter were by her side. She was born to the late Jesse and Mildred Ingram on August 23, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dana held her family first, as a devoted wife and loving mother. Dana graduated from Cosmetology School in 1964. She was employed in a variety of positions throughout her life, but her time working at Farmers and Merchants Bank in the bookkeeping department was where she found her love of organization, details and numbers. Dana maintained planners and calendars with color coded notations even as her health failed. Dana volunteered at church and in her daughter’s schools, where her former “room mother” skills shined.
Dana was preceded in death by her sisters Lela Ann Vincent, Janice White and Adrienne Sweet; sisters-in-law Marcella Potter, Patty Whitt, Brenda Poulter and Charlotte Dailey; brothers-in-law Larry Vincent, John White, Harry Sweet, Donnie Whitt, Elwood Whitt, Terry Whitt, Gus Begeman, Junior Potter and Bud Elam. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Billy Whitt; daughter, Myra (Greg) Sanders; grandchildren, Brad (Rachael) Sanders, Drew (Krissy) Sanders, Nick (Cheyenne) Sanders, Matt Sanders and Molly Sanders; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Cohen and Lucas Sanders; sister, Julienne (John) Snyder; sisters-in-law Sue Durland, Patsy Elam, Betty Whitt, Linda Whitt, Penny Whitt, Charlotte Farley, Patty Whitt; brothers-in-law Archie Durland, Thomas Poulter, JerryWhitt, Larry Whitt and Gary Whitt, and many wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as her church family. Both sides of this large and loud family fondly recall the way Dana didn’t know a stranger, how she made everyone feel welcome in her home and her heart, how she had a big beautiful smile for everyone who walked in her home, and mostly, how she made sure everyone had a drink and a treat when they came to see her.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Hospice of Dayton and the caring staff at Kettering Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Dana.
