Diana L. Owens

Diana L. Owens, age 71, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born April 7, 1954, in Springfield, OH, the daughter of the late Shirley J. (Peterman) Lapp.

Diana dedicated many years of her life to her profession as a nurse at the Inn at Fox Run. Her care and compassion for others left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. A proud graduate with her LPN degree, Diana exemplified the values of dedication and service throughout her nursing career. Her colleagues and patients alike admired her for her unwavering commitment, always ready to lend a helping hand with a warm smile and a reassuring presence.

 Beyond her professional accomplishments, Diana was a woman of many passions. She held a deep love for sewing, expressing her creativity through intricate designs and seasonal wreaths that brightened any space she graced. Her lively spirit was complemented by her enthusiasm for travel, particularly memorable trips to Las Vegas with her beloved husband. These adventures brought her immeasurable joy, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Diana was also a devoted dog owner; her small poodle, Pandy, was a constant source of companionship and comfort in her life. Together, they shared many delightful moments that showcased her gentle and nurturing personality. A true fan of NASCAR, Diana found excitement in the fast-paced thrills of the races. Her vibrant interests, which included decorating her home with great flair, reflected her joyful love for life and all its offerings.

Diana L. Owens will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, and her unwavering dedication to both her profession and her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Diana is preceded in death by her maternal & paternal grandparents, devoted husband of 46 years, James “Jim” Owens; son, Bobby Owens; and aunt Jackie Hayes. She is survived by one sister, Sharon Lary; two sons, Mike (Tami) Owens, Steve (Brenda) Owens; one daughter, Sherry Cox; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren with two more on the way; niece, Donna Barragan; nephew, John (Tha) Madden Jr.; many cousins, extended family and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Byron Cemetery, 3256 Trebein Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324, Pastor Ken Majors, officiating. Those wishing to attend may arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of service at the cemetery. Digital condolences may be made to the family below.
