Dorothy "Dot" (Harrison) Braddon

Dorothy "Dot"(Harrison) Braddon, aged 94, of Fairborn, passed away on February 14, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on July 31, 1931 in Columbus Mississippi, the daughter of E.R. and Zelda (Ross) Harrison.

A 1949 graduate of S.D. Lee High School, she continued her education at Mississippi State College for Women. On May 15,1952, she married 1st Lt. Paul L. Braddon, a pilot at Columbus AFB. Immediately following the wedding, they departed for Kansas and her life as an Air Force wife began. His 20 year career included assignments to Nevada, Texas, Korea, Germany, California, Ohio and Viet Nam retiring in Fairborn in 1971. Dot was a member of the Officer Wives Club where she enjoyed playing bridge and doing volunteer work. She was very much a people person and continued her love of bridge with her neighborhood circle of friends. Church was an important part of her life. She was baptized at a young age in the First Baptist Church in her hometown of Columbus MS. Dot was a member of Maple Avenue Church of God in Fairborn for almost 20 years. She taught Sunday school, directed Bible school, and loved her church family and friends. A thoughtful and generous person, Dot would give you the shirt off her back. Dot is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Ethel Harrison, her sister Betty Eason (Bill), her brothers Ed Harrison and Ernest Harrison (Peggy).

She is survived by her daughter Paula (Gary) Herd, granddaughter Elizabeth (Braden) Bushman, great grandchildren Natalie, Dawson, Madden, Braley and Mazie. Elizabeth was the light of her life. A devoted grandmother, she treasured her role as “Mama Dot”. Dot was blessed with a long life. She was stronger than most people will ever understand. Her strong will to live helped her overcome any illness she faced. She wasn’t ready to leave her family, but God had other plans. She is now rejoicing in her Heavenly home. Dot leaves behind a lifetime of memories and will be deeply missed.

There will be no public service. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn, OH.
