Dovie Christine Baker, age 86 of Fairborn, departed this life on July 11, 2026 and went on a journey we all must take. She was on July 5, 1940 in Carbon Glow (near Hazard), Kentucky the 12th of 12 children, the daughter of the late Clint and Charity (Branscum) New. Her husband of 65 years, Chester preceded her in death Feb 2, 2020 at the age of 84. He is greatly missed. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters. Dovie leaves to cherish her memory three precious children, Ronald (Cathy), Karen (Kenny), Kevin (Theresa); two grandchildren, Jason Conley, Amber Baker; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Conley, Taylor Bennett, Kenslee Casey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved. Dovie was a loving, caring and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friends. She always treated people the way she would want to be treated. No matter the situation through good or bad times, she was always there for her family. Dovie was a kind person who will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Spring Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral will be held Thursday July 16, 2026 at 1:00 pm, Pastor Glen Henderson officiating. Dovie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Byron Cemetery.
