Edith Pratt, age 93 of New Carlisle, formerly of Fairborn, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at Trinity Community of Fairborn. Born July 25, 1933, in Viper, Kentucky, Edith lived a life characterized by remarkable spirit, unwavering resilience, and an infectious sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wix Branson and Mary (Mobley) Branson; her husband of 59 years, E.B. Pratt in 2020; children, Theresa, Danny, and Craig; a brother, Donald; a sister, Vivian; and grandsons, Jeremiah and Daniel; and two daughters-in-law, Linda Pratt and Kathy Pratt. Their memories were held dear in Edith’s heart, and her love for them was a guiding presence in her life.

Edith is survived by her sons, Wayne, Michael, Eric, and Dana (Stacey) Pratt, and their families; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren, and other extended family.

She attended Church of God Tabernacle and Faith Hill Church of God, both in Fairborn; and Valley Street Free United Baptist in Dayton.

Edith was known for her fearless approach to life. At the age of 80, she went skydiving and she loved rollercoasters, a testament to her zest for adventure and embracing new experiences regardless of age. Her practical jokes and playful sense of humor brought joy to those around her, brightening every room and leaving a lasting impression on friends and loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to honor Edith’s memory at the following services: a visitation will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 12:30 P.M., Buck Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.

Edith Pratt’s presence, love, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her remarkable life and enduring spirit continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.
