Gerald Brandon Lewis, “Jerry” passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 44. Jerry lived in Medway, Ohio, and was born on May 1, 1981, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Emily Lewis (Katie). He took great pride in helping raise Julie, Madison, and Aubrey, embracing the role of a devoted father figure whose constancy, compassion, and guidance left a lasting imprint on their lives and hearts. Becoming a "Pops" to his grandson, Finlay Ian, brought light and joy to his life.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Louise Schrock Lewis; his step-mother, Minda Robinson; brother, John Henry Lewis Jr.; his grandfather, Ernest Schrock; and his grandmother, Laveda Schrock, who played a significant role in his upbringing.
He is survived by his father, John Henry Lewis; his siblings Laura, April, and Bryant; and family, including Erica and Jamie Gambrel, and their son Henry; Emily Reinhardt and Will, and their two children Alayna and Liam; Brooke, and her child Taylin, Jon and Adrienne Schrier, and their children Madison, Luke, and Liam; Ryan and Jessica Strauss, and their children Avery and Evan; Elizabeth and John Wourms, and their children Benjamin, Kaleb, and Natalie; Angela Bentley; Keith and Theresa Bentley; and Karen Martin. He is also remembered by his close friend Eric Coker.
Jerry grew up in Fairborn, Ohio, where he attended Fairborn schools and later Sinclair Community College. From the moment he could pick up a ball, sports were a central part of his life. Anyone who knew Jerry knew his deep love for the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed golf, fantasy football, and a good game of Texas Hold’em.
Professionally, Jerry served as a Branch Manager at Hershey Creamery, a role he was proud of. He was known as a reliable, hardworking employee who showed up, did the job right, and took care of people.
At home, Jerry found his joy in simple, meaningful moments—family movie nights on Fridays, popcorn in hand, surrounded by the people and pets he loved most.
Jerry valued family, hard work, spirituality, and humor. He lived by the belief that life should be met honestly and with laughter. He once described himself best:
“I’m a lovin’ husband, a loyal friend, a caring family man, a reliable employee, a God-fearin’, productive member of society who pays his bills and taxes. I’m not perfect—I do have defects—but I try my best to do the right thing, or at least the next right thing. I’m good-hearted and down-to-earth. I try to learn from my mistakes. I’m grateful for everything and everyone in my life. I’m not quite where I want to be, but I’m nowhere near where I once was. I’ll always be a work in progress, and I’m okay with that. Overall… I’m fortunate.”
Jerry will be deeply missed and remembered for his heart, his quick wit, and the steady presence he brought into the lives of those he loved.
