Harold "Gene" Conner, born on September 12, 1948, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, passed away on September 11, 2025, in Fairborn, just one day shy of his 77th birthday.
Harold was employed as a machinist with Duriron, where he devoted 35 years of his life to the craft before retiring. His work ethic and commitment to quality craftsmanship earned him the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of many in the industry.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Harold was known for his vibrant interests and hobbies. He had an enduring love for music, which played a significant role in enriching his life and the lives of those around him. Additionally, Harold was an avid fan of NASCAR and football.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Pearl Chaney who raised him; his wife, Geraldine in 2021; a daughter, Kathy Conner in 2005. Survivors include a son, Ronald Conner; three grandchildren, Travis (Sabrina) Wilkes, Tiffany (Jeremy) Jennings, Brantly Conner; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Sevaeh, Tytus, Carter, and Ryatt Dean.
The funeral service will be held on Monday September 22, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home located at 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at the Byron Cemetery Mausoleum.
