Harold S. Donahoe, 90, of Huntington, West Virginia, formerly of Fairborn, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. He was born June 30, 1935, in Barboursville,Cabell County,West Virginia, to the late Paul and Annalaur (Walker) Donahoe, he spent his career as a union journeyman with James River Corporation. He credited the Union with his successful career. He had a natural intelligence that could understand complex problems and believed in the equality of all people, their dignity and human rights, treasured family above all—relishing time with his siblings, children, grandchildren and friends. He enjoyed walking, sharing stories, and teaching others about his West Virginia and Appalachian heritage, had a sly, infectious sense of humor, cared for the environment long before it was fashionable. He quietly supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and other causes. he was preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. And Annalaur (Walker) Donahoe, his wife Ruth Anne (Knapp) Donahoe, his brother Paul David Donahoe, his grandson James Ray Taylor. He is survived by his children Stephen Donahoe, Keith (Jan) Donahoe, and Lisa (Mark) Taylor; grandchildren Noah,Maria, Brianna, Autumn, and Maxim, siblings Betty (Charles) Douglas and Kenneth Donahoe; nieces Kim, Deloria, Denise and Sheri, nephew Paul Jr., and extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 N Valley Rd, Xenia, with Pastor Eric Meade officiating on 28 April at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for friends to send a donation in his memory to the Saint Jude’s children’s hospital (stjude .org)
