Ivan Williams

Ivan Williams, age 85, of New Carlisle, OH, passed away, at Hospice of Miami County, surrounded by his loving family, June 18, 2025. He was born on January 28, 1940, in Hazard, KY, the son of the late Carson and Della (Conway) Williams.

A devoted family man and a talented craftsman, Ivan dedicated the majority of his life to his career as a carpenter and master drywaller. He is particularly known for his extensive tenure with Queen City Drywall.

He loved his family first and foremost, cherishing every moment spent with them. His great sense of humor brought joy to those around him, and his ability to find light in any situation endeared him to many. An honorable veteran, Ivan served proudly in the United States Army Reserves, a role that he took great pride in. Ivan took immense joy in being an active spectator of his family's sporting events. He delighted in watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they pursued their athletic endeavors, always ready with cheers of encouragement and pride.

Throughout his life, Ivan was not only a hard worker and a great provider for his wife and family but also a proud Christian. His commitment to both his craft and his family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Ivan leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family, which will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Ivan is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Billie Jean (Clutterbuck) Williams; son, Kevin Lee (Diana Dee) Williams Sr; eight siblings, Sophia, Geneva, Jerldine, Eugene, Charles, Carol Sue, Ted, Rita; and extended family. He is survived by two daughters, Catherine “Cathy” (Jay) Petitto, Karen (Mark) Edwards, seven grandchildren, Stacy (Adam), Kevin Jr. (Emma), Joe, Jason (Alexa), Kristin (Greg), Jeff, Karson; seven great-grandchildren, Landin, Levi, Logan, Lorelei, Cecilia, Madison, Jake; two sisters, Flo (Bud), Reva (Roger); extended family and close friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M., until the time of service, Pastor Eric Meade, celebrant. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
