Jerry D. Blakley, age 88 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday June 2, 2026. He was born February 17, 1938 in Montpelier, Indiana, the son of the late Dorsey and Doris (McCroskey) Blakley.

Jerry served his county in the United States Air Force from 1956 – 1960 and followed with a career as a forklift operator at Chrysler until retirement. Jerry had a love for adventure and being outdoors. He was an avid motorcyclist and also enjoyed camping and boating. Among all of his interests, Jerry loved his family most of all and he will be remembered with great respect by all of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Blakley in 1981; and his siblings, Eugene, James, Donald, William, Wanda, Aileen, Nancy , and Madonna.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; five children, Peggy (Scott) Dennull of Beavercreek, Terry (Tresa) Blakley of Beavercreek, Brenda (Nick) Smith of Yellow Springs, Doug (Cathy) Folk of Colorado, Donny (Kiesha) Folk of Colorado; eight grandchildren, Terry (Kelly) Blakley, Ashley (Justin) Terrell, Cory (Cassie) Smith, Kyle (Carissa) Smith, Kailey (Matt) See, Kiersten (Chris) Montalvo, Alex (Stephanie) Folk, Jenna (Brad) Hoffman; 13 great-grandchildren, Dawson, Cohen, Caden, Hudson, Kendyl, Easton, Charley, Ryder, Layne, Lincoln, Ariana, Halston, Ellie; and a sister, Nancy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 6, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Derek Trenum officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
