Murray W. Dean

USAF SMSgt. (ret.) Murray W. Dean, age 76 of Fairborn passed away September 17, 2026. He was born June 19, 1950 in Provo, Utah, the son of the late Don M. and Julia P. (Healey) Dean. Murray served his country in the U.S. Air Force in different fields of avionics, retiring at the rank of SMSgt., then followed with employment in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB. He was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fairborn. Murray enjoyed camping, hiking and shooting skeet. Among the interests that brought meaning to his life was his dedication to researching family history and ensuring the genealogy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Marie Jay; and brother, Byron Dean. Murray is survived by his loving wife, Wendy; four children, Ryan Murray Dean, Tyson William (Meghan) Dean; Heidi Leah Dean; Michael Weiss; two grandchildren, Colton Behr Dean, Liam Frank Dean; two sisters, Dianna Tankersley, Barbara Weeden; as well as extended family and friends. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday September 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W.
