Nila Kaempf, age 81 of Fairborn, passed away August 30, 2025 at the Kettering Medical Center. She was born November 24, 1943 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Carl and Jean (Lowrie) Love.
Nila was a longtime member of Mary Help of Christians Church and she was employed as a psychiatric attendant at Twin Valley Behavioral Facility, retiring after 30 years of service. She was very involved in NAMI, the National Alliance for Mentally Ill and her journey through life was marked by compassion, dedication and a gentle spirit that touched many hearts.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, John Kaempf; and a brother, John Love. Nila is survived by two grandsons, Kyle and Evan; sister-in-law, Rose Love; nieces, Amanda Crabille, Heather Schum, Gwendolyn Manye; great nieces, Caitlyn Brackett, Jenna Mayne, and Miley Crabille.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 17, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mary Help of Christians Church, 954 S. Maple Ave, Fairborn, Father Ambrose Dobrozsi celebrant. Nila will be inurned with her son at Byron Cemetery.
