CHANEY, Patricia Gail age 86 of Dayton passed away suddenly on Monday November 03, 2025. She was born April 05, 1939 in Montgomery County.
Patricia was loved by her family, friends, and neighbors for her vibrant personality and active social life. She was always there when needed. A trusted best friend to family and friends. Patricia was employed by Dayton Etch, Delco Products, and Monarch Marking Systems and Walmart. She retired after 44 years of service. She volunteered with many organizations and charities. The most notable was Hospice for 12 years.
She was proceeded in death by her Mother and Stepdad Velma Nevada and Lester Leroy Schwartz (Veteran), Her Father Charles Woodrow Hendricks (Veteran), Stepmother Virginia Ruth Hendricks, Brother John Edward Hendricks (Veteran), and Former Husband, David L. Chaney, Sr. In the last several years a significant number of local family members proceeded her. Dennis Daley, Michelle Daley LaFlame, Paulette Runnels Wulfeck, Chad Zbindon, Ron James Wulfeck (2-01-26), Chadrick Cornwell, Craig Alan Wulfeck, Mary Lou Barry, Don Cleveland, John Daley, Elizabeth Daley, Lionel (Shelley) Daley, Pat Love and others.
She is survived by two sons David L. Chaney Jr, Chris (Beatrice) Chaney of San Diego; Two grandsons Neal Patrick Chaney of Columbus, Matthew Jacob Chaney of San Diego. Patricia's sister Beverly (Jim) Barnhart of Fairborn. Brother Steve (Connie) Schwartz of Mason, Brother Gary (Wanda) Schwartz of Sarasota. Her nieces and nephews, Renee (Merle) Cox of Beaver Creek, Amy Reveal Howard of Beaver Creek. Angie (Fred) Miller of Sarasota, Nikki (Chad) Williams of Sarasota, Danielle Schwartz of Sarasota. Chad (Stephanie) Schwartz of Blanchester, Shanda (Lee) Carr of Bloomfield IA. Patti had a large amount of cousins too many to detail. She loved to organize events, and participated in celebrations often to maintain her closeness with all her cousins and extended family
Patricia Gail Chaney's Celebration of Life will be April 26,2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the clubhouse at 565 Park Hills Crossing, Lower Level, Fairborn, OH 45324.
Our Mama Patti donated her body to Wright State School of Medicine to follow her Aunt Dorothy and Mother Velma. Rockafield Cemetery is on the Wright State University campus at Circle drive/Rockafield way. She is memorialized with a brick in the gardens honoring her gift to further the next generation of medical professionals.
