Prudence M. Gonzalez

Prudence M. Gonzalez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. She was born on March 23, 1943, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Rodney and Madelyn (Newman) Olson.

Prudence was caring and loving wife of Reinaldo "Ray" Gonzalez, sharing countless moments of joy and companionship throughout their years together. She cherished her role as a mother to her daughter, Amy DeLong; took pride in her grandchildren, Nicholous (Kayla) Banks, Joel (Bessie) Ricketts, Samantha Banks, John (Linda) DeLong, Matthew (Dana) DeLong, James (Abigail) DeLong, David DeLong, and Nathaniel DeLong; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Nehemiah, Juda, Bailey Jo, Alexandria, Cole, Amirah, Brittany, Hunter, Isaac, Isabel, and Cash; sisters, Shelly Olson, Kristy Karrow; as well as extended family and friends.

She found immense joy in her hobbies, which included cooking, gardening, sewing, traveling, and reading. She was particularly proud of her many years attending Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, where she forged deep and meaningful connections within her community.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Abby L. Banks; and siblings, Marlene Favor, Johnny Olson, and Lynn Olson.

Funeral service will be held on June 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 East Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn, Pastor Andrew Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery.
