Richard Franklin “Frank” Loy, age 74, of Fairborn, OH, passed away, in the comfort of home, Monday, May 5, 2025. He was born July 6, 1950, in Dubuque, IA, the son of the late Wayne Richard and Evelyn (Dikeman) Loy.
He was a dedicated civil engineer who worked with the City of Fairborn for an impressive 28 years. Frank earned his bachelor's degree in engineering, which laid the foundation for a fruitful career marked by commitment and professionalism.Frank possessed a creative flair that shone through in his talent for acrylic painting. His artistic pursuits were a true reflection of his personality—loving, friendly, and approachable, making him a cherished colleague and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.Outside of his professional endeavors, Frank was actively engaged in his community, having volunteered at the Carillon Historical Park. His interests encompassed a variety of outdoor activities; he enjoyed traveling, golfing, and even brewing his own beer, famously named "Loy Haus." Moreover, Frank was an avid Green Bay Packer’s fan looking forward to each new season—Go Pack!
Frank’s life was decorated with significant accomplishments, including being a proud recipient of the Eagle Scout Award, a testament to his leadership and dedication from a young age.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by several infant siblings. He is survived by his devoted companion of fourteen years, Ann Marie Ross; two children, Taneha (Catherine) Duncan Littlejohn, Spencer Loy; four grandchildren, Elijah, Astryd, Zoie, Keevan; former spouse, Monica Johnson; extended family, and close friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Trinity United Church-Christ, 821 N. Central Avenue, Fairborn, OH 45324. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service, Reverend Gene Cline, celebrant. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
