Rickey G. Helton, born on July 3, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in Dayton on October 30, 2025, at the age of 68. He was a dedicated professional in the field of automotive parts design, beginning his career with Rapid Design Service and most recently working with Workhorse Custom Chassis. Rickey earned his Associate's Degree from ITT Technical Institute, which laid the foundation for his successful career.
Rickey's life was characterized by a profound love for his family, particularly his granddaughters, Brianna Harville, Grace Helton, and Jewel Helton. He found immense joy in spending time with them and cherished every moment they shared. Additionally, he formed strong bonds with his daughter, Leslie Helton, and her fiancé, Ralph Harville. His relationships extended to four sisters, Georgia Shears, Carolyn Hibbard, Janet Becraft, and Peggy Branscomb, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members who will always remember him fondly.
In his personal life, Rickey had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman, finding solace in nature's tranquility. He had a particular fondness for Diet Coke and Butter Pecan Ice Cream, little indulgences that brought him happiness. Recently, Rickey rededicated his life to Christ, an act that bestowed much peace upon him and his family, reflecting his spiritual journey and commitment to faith.
He joins his parents, Bolden G. and Jewel D. (Miller) Helton, in eternal rest, along with four sisters, Sharon White, Joan Grigson, Patricia Helton, and Brenda Helton, all of whom preceded him in death.
Rickey's memory will be honored with visitation at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn on Wednesday November 5, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, Pastor Tim Hamilton and Rev. Virgil Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with kindness, love, and laughter.
