Robert Allen Geist

Robert Allen Geist, affectionately known as Bob, was born on June 29, 1963, in Xenia, and he peacefully passed away on Sunday November 2, 2025, in Xenia, surrounded by his beloved siblings. The youngest of six, Bob and his siblings have always shared a close bond and they all ensured Bob had the best care possible over these last several months.

A proud graduate of Beavercreek High School and Wright State University, Bob dedicated his professional life to the real estate sector. He began his journey by assisting his father in property renovation and rentals before becoming a licensed real estate agent and broker. With an extensive knowledge of the local market, Bob represented both buyers and sellers, earning a reputation as a trustworthy and reliable asset to those he served. More recently, he enjoyed success as an Airbnb host locally and in Augusta, KY, sharing not only his properties but also forging meaningful relationships with guests and local townspeople alike.

In addition to his work in real estate, Bob was a valued member of the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home team, where he lent his skills and attention to detail in a part-time capacity for the last 15 years. A devoted member of his community, he served on the Beavercreek Township Zoning Commission and was a member of the Greene County Central Committee.

An adventure seeker at heart, Bob enjoyed riding dirt bikes with a neighborhood friend around the family farm during his youth. This evolved into a sustained enthusiasm for dual sport motorcycling, taking him to various locations across the United States and a considerable portion of South America. Bob’s love for travel was evident, and he held a deep attachment to Chile, the country of his maternal heritage and where he held dual citizenship. His journeys to Chile were a cherished part of his life, leading to countless memories with family members and friends.

Bob had learned carpentry skills from his father and older brothers, which, combined with his keen eye for layout and design, made him a go-to resource for various projects within his circle. He invariably extended a helping hand to friends and family, showing his generous spirit and willingness to assist those around him. He could be best described as a proper gentleman, gifted at reading people and adapting to various social settings, whether it was a formal dinner or a cozy bonfire. His unmatched sense of humor and a repertoire of one-liners created a warm and joyful atmosphere among friends and family.

He is survived by his sister, Janice (Steve) Thompson of Xenia; his four brothers, Gary (Kaye) Geist of Xenia, Dale (Julie) Geist of Tennessee, David (Sharon) Geist of Texas, and Joel (Tracy) Geist of Beavercreek; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He also leaves behind extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ernest and Catherine Jordan (Couse) Geist, whose legacy of hard work and dedication to family he carried forward throughout his life.

A visitation will be held on Thursday November 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 P.M., Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 A.M. on Friday November 14, 2025 enroute to Byron Cemetery where a graveside service will take place at 11:00 A.M.
