Robert R. Kepperling, age 90 of Fairborn passed away January 28, 2026. He was born June 27, 1935 in West Union, Ohio, the son of the late Robert E. And Lucille (Purden) Kepperling. He graduated from Wayne High School in Cherry Fork, Ohio and after graduation he drove trucks for his fathers business. He married Faye McGuire while living in West Union and together they moved to Fairborn in 1962 after the Police Chief Robert Cox encouraged him to work for the Fairborn Police Department. With having police training, he obtained a full time position in security at General Motors implant protection. Through General Motors he was sent to fire training to become a firefighter. His commitment to community service did not end there; he also made his mark in the real estate sector. Robert enjoyed country and bluegrass music. Among his proudest accomplishments was piloting airplanes; starting at a small club in Cherry Fork sparked his passion for planes, later obtaining his pilot license and successfully rebuilding an airplane.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Kepperling. Robert is survived by two sons, Randy Kepperling and Ronnie (Jo) Kepperling; two daughters, Cheryl Kepperling and Angela Kepperling; twelve grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday February 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Cherry Fork Cemetery, located in Winchester, Ohio.
