Robert Neill Stemen, age 98 of Medway and Fairborn, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday May 25, 2026. He was born July 13,1927 in LaGrange, Indiana, the son of the late Harold and Velma (Adam) Stemen.
Neill served his country at the conclusion of World War II in the Merchant Marines and then the US Air Force. He followed with a lifelong career as the owner and operator of A to Z Appliance Service. Neill’s dedication to his work and his customers was a hallmark of his life and his expertise and integrity built a reputation of trust and reliability in the community.
He loved and faithfully attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Xenia; and was a true jack of all trades who could fix nearly anything, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved and appreciated his family and the time shared with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen in 2010; a daughter, Marilyn Sue Stemen; and four brothers and their spouses, Roger (Helen), Forrest (Marian), Keith (Joan), James (Barbara). Survivors include four children, Kaye (Gary) Geist of Xenia, Karen (Steve) Schulze of Fairborn, Robert (Kerry) Stemen of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, Nathan (Jennifer) Stemen of Fairborn; 20 grandchildren, Jonathan, Brian (Leslie), Stephanie (Damien), Mark (Elizabeth), Lisa, Ethan (Bethany), Benjamin (Abbigail), Ashley (Steven), Hannah, Samuel (Taylor), Elisabeth, Jacob (Elizabeth), Zachary (Abbigail), Mary (Cameron), Emma (Levi), Grant (Hope), Tyler (Gracie), Rob (Jessica), Emily (Caleb), Darby (Colton); 29 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday May 29, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2040 West Second St., Xenia, OH, Pastor Josh Bevan officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service at the church. The graveside service and burial will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church in his memory.
