Rosemary Murphy

Rosemary Murphy, age 71 of Fairborn passed away September 14, 2025 at Kettering Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 3, 1954 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Alvin "Enoch" and Beatrice (Turner) Watts. A talented cake decorator, Rosemary was known for her artistic flair that extended beyond cakes. Her passion for art found expression in drawing, journaling, painting, and numerous other crafts. Her studio was her "Happy Place" - a place for art, reading, and studying scriptures. She was a dedicated caregiver as a teaching assistant and a nursing home activity assistant, where she brought warmth and joy to both students and residents alike. Rosemary's most prized collection was her Hallmark Christmas ornaments that she began collecting in 1973. Additionally, she had a special fondness for miniatures, thoughtfully displayed throughout her house and often changed with the seasons, reflecting her creative spirit and attention to detail. Rosemary is preceded in death by an infant sister, Mima Watts; sister Brenda "Kay" Morgan; nephews, Dallas Watts and Payton Crossley Watts. She is survived by her daughter, Angel (Michael) Edmonds, and her cherished brothers, Garlett (Carol) Watts, Calvin (Ronda) Watts, and Owen (Kim) Watts. Rosemary also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Danny Morgan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 20, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Lowell Lay officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. The family would like to welcome you to the visitation wearing casual clothes, the way Rosemary would have wanted you to attend. She will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery.
