Sandra L. Wiener, age 85 of Yellow Springs passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. She was born September 3, 1939 in Sharonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Martha (Hyde) Flickinger. Sandra was known for her love of reading and solving crossword puzzles, activities that not only brought her joy but also kept her mind sharp. She enjoyed cooking and maintaining a welcoming home, often hosting family and friends in her warm and inviting space. Her talents in the kitchen were well-regarded, and her culinary creations were a cherished part of many gatherings. Sandra was an avid Red Cross volunteer, a popular swimming instructor, and served as Catholic Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) Director at Wurtsmith AFB, Michigan.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, USAF Col. (ret.) Robert D. Wiener, who remained her steadfast partner throughout their life together. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Bradley and Nancy DeSerisy, and two brothers, Carl Flickinger and Bruce Flickinger.
She is survived by her four beloved children, Robin Lawson, Robert B. (Tina) Wiener, Carl (Julie) Wiener, and Joseph (Heather Eidson) Wiener; grandchildren, Michael, Beth, Robert, Ashley (Greg), Megan (Trystan), Breanna, Carl, Carly, and Gus; as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday September 5, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Deacon Max Roadruck officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Sandra will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert at Byron Cemetery.
