Thomas A. Huelsman “Tommy”, 63
Tommy left this world exactly how he would have wanted: Driving a cab on the weekend at Port Clinton, OH surrounded by work friends.
Tommy was a gentle soul with deep, quiet faith. He had a way of making life feel lighter. He was a good friend to many, with a kind listening ear. His generosity of spirit and in action is legendary. He was a gifted pool player and loved to play golf and worked hard- sometimes it seemed non-stop. He worked at Innovative Auctions, Inc. Fairborn OH during the week and After Hours Taxi, Port Clinton OH on weekends for many years. Tom had an enormous capacity for friendship. He had very little interest in material things, his friends and family and work friends were his greatest treasure. He loved to tell jokes, working on new material every spring for the summer cab season. No one can talk about Tom without a smile and a story. True to Tom’s generous spirit, he was an organ donor and continued to bless others after his passing.
Tom was born June 28, 1962 to Jack and Arlene (Silvers) Huelsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Huelsman (niece), Mike Huelsman (brother) Jim Huelsman (uncle) Doug Fannin (brother-in-law). He is survived by his family: Sandy (Jerry) Clegg, Karen Huelsman, Shelly (Jay) Smithberger, Audra (Dennis) Zahn and Dave (Kathy) Huelsman. Nieces and nephews: John Christenson, Erika Updike, Luke Fannin, Andrew Christenson, Savannah Dewey, Sean Huelsman, Jacob Huelsman, Elliot Smithberger, Matthew Clegg, Elisa Clegg, Colin Huelsman and Jonah Huelsman. There are so many more family, friends and work friends that cared about him deeply.
Special Thanks to all those that cared for him, from his co-workers, to the medics and Magruder Hospital. Special thanks to the incredible staff at Promedica Cardiac ICU, Toledo, OH.
In lieu of flowers: the family asks that contributions be directed to Life Connection of Ohio at www.lifeconnection.org where you can donate or better yet click the box ‘REGISTER TO SAVE LIVES’ and become a donor like Tom.
