Tooney Easterling, a man whose faith and dedication touched countless lives, went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 20, 1929 with an identical twin brother in Florress, Kentucky, the son of the late William Walter and Nora (Johnson) Easterling. From a young age, Tooney embodied warmth and kindness, traits that defined his personality throughout his years. It was said that he never met a stranger and always wore a smile that could brighten any room. These qualities made him not only a beloved pastor but also a cherished friend to many.Tooney’s spiritual journey was the cornerstone of his life. He was saved on July 1, 1949, an event that ignited a lifelong passion for ministry. As the founding pastor of Faith Hill Church of God, he faithfully ministered for over seven decades, guiding his congregation with wisdom and compassion. Throughout his ministry, he baptized and married hundreds of couples, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy in the community he served so devotedly.In addition to his pastoral work, Tooney dedicated 37 years of his life to civil service at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. There, he served as a foreman of aircraft freight loading, a role in which he excelled alongside his twin brother, Toney, earning the affectionate nickname “the Pete Roses of cargo.” Their impeccable teamwork and dedication became well-known and respected amongst their colleagues.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; twin brother, Toney Easterling; sister, Marie Williams; grandson, Jason Lewis; and son-in-law, Danny Pratt. Tooney’s personal life was enriched by his relationships with those he held dear. He shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Imajean, a partnership that was a source of strength and joy. He is also survived by three children, Gary (Gay) Easterling, Karen Pratt, and Patsy (David) Sturey; two step-children, Debra (Kenny) Lewis, Jeffrey (Susan) Sparks; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory.A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral will be held on Thursday March 26, 2026 at 10:00 am, Pastors Tim Hamilton and Donnie Pack officiating. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery.
