Vesta LaVonna "Bonnie" Sayre

Vesta LaVonna "Bonnie" Sayre, age 83, of Fairborn, Ohio, moved to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 11, 2026. 

She was born to parents Ray Fannin and Emily “Farley” Fannin on May 22, 1943, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky but she spent most of her life in Fairborn, Ohio where she dedicated more than 30 years of service to Fairborn City Schools, where she faithfully cared for generations of “her kids”. 

Known affectionately as “Bonnie or MamMam" she was loved by all who knew her and of all of life’s blessing, she cherished her family the most. Bonnie also enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards at the local senior community center. She found great joy in sharing family recipes (cookbooks) and home-cooked meals which became a cherished legacy passed down through generations. 

Bonnie is survived by her loving daughter, Darla Shaw and husband Mark; her son, Greg Ferguson; grandchildren Nikki, Cole, Britney, and Danielle; and great-grandchildren Bryson, JJ, Kenzie, and Keegan. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Pauline Fannin Rose; brothers Eugene, and wife Joyce, Everett, and Paul; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. 

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Warren Sayre; her parents, Ray and Emily Fannin, 8 siblings and her son, Bryan Ferguson. 

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Bonnie's love and laughter will continue to live on through all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bonnie's life on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH, 45324. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 12:00 P.M., NOON, Bryan Rose officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
