Wanda J. Shearer, a cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in Troy, Ohio, at the age of 91. She was born March 12, 1934, in Fayette County, Paint Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Crawford) Snyder.
Wanda was an active member of her community, proudly belonging to the Red Hat Society and a local card club. She found joy in participating in social outings, often embarking on adventures with friends on tour buses to various destinations. A lover of holidays, Wanda made it her mission to celebrate each occasion with her family, creating unforgettable memories that will be cherished by those who had the pleasure of being a part of her life.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, David Shearer; three siblings, Patricia Williams, James Snyder, Jack Snyder; and great-grandson, Jason Whitt. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Regina Shearer; six grandchildren, David Shearer (Jennifer Richards), Marcus (Jennica) Whitt, Jesse Whitt (Amy Williams), Erin Williams, Lee Williams, and Eric Shearer; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Whitt, Jonathon Whitt, Maximus Whitt; two siblings, Barbara Digiannantoni, Jerry Snyder, as well as extended family and friends.
Wanda J. Shearer lived a life full of joy, laughter, and deep connections, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we celebrate the countless lives she enriched and the love that remains in the hearts of her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday February 6, 2026 at 12 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Condolences may be made to Ohio's Hospice, Troy region in memory of Wanda.
