Yoshiko “Alice” Baldwin, age 89 of Fairborn, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born May 24, 1936 in Taipei, Taiwan, the daughter of the late Akira Otsubo and Setsuko Tanaka. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, CMSgt. (ret.) Stanley “Steve” Baldwin; and sister, Masako Nakajima. Alice is survived by her two children, son, Steve (Shelley) Baldwin; daughter, Sami (John) Flanagan; seven grandchildren, Maxwell, Kathleen, Joshua, and Benjamin Baldwin; Lucas, Hagan, and Tatum Flanagan; as well as extended family.
Alice was a loving wife, a doting mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend to those who knew her. She adored her grandchildren, loved animals and bird watching, enjoyed tagging along to family events and gatherings, and never turned down the opportunity to share a good meal with anyone who asked. Alice was also a longtime parishioner and choir member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Fairborn.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at The Patterson, Beavercreek, for their watchful care, support, and love over the past year, as well as her many faithful friends who checked in on her and sent well wishes so regularly. She appreciated and cherished all of you.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn. A Holy Eucharist and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Fairborn, followed by a reception hosted by the family. Alice will be inurned next to her husband, Steve, at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, in a private ceremony at a date to be determined.
