Alan W. Moore

Alan W. Moore, age 72, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2023 at the Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.  He was born July 27, 1950 in Dayton, the son of the late Isom and Norma (Dalton) Moore. 

Alan was a Tecumseh High School graduate, Class of 1969.  A quick learner, he implemented a variety of skillsets in various fields of employment throughout the years, retiring as an Equipment Operator and Union Organizer with the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18.  His memberships included Huber Heights Lodge No. 777 F&AM. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Sayre-Flick.  Survivors included his wife of nine years, Muriel Allen-Moore; three children, Chris (Nan) Moore of Huber Heights, Justin (Angie) Moore of Huber Heights, Summer (Greg) Genetti of Cincinnati; three grandsons, Tyler Moore, Hunter Moore, Noah Sayre-Flick; a son-in-law, Thomas Flick of Monroe; and his two pet cats, Mosi and Wesa. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties for the wonderful care they provided.

A Masonic service will be held on Friday March 24, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. immediately followed by a memorial service at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society -or- the Alzheimer’s Association.
