David A. Henderson, age 62, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away August 17, 2023. He was born January 4, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of John (Jack) and Carol Henderson.
David was warm and loving, best known for his sense of humor and putting people at ease. He was a graduate of Park Hills High School and Miami University. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; enjoyed boating, camping, water skiing, scuba diving, traveling, and time with family. In more recent years, his love of animals led him to volunteering his time at a local animal shelter. His successful career as a chemical paper engineer afforded him opportunities to travel extensively and reside in many US states such as Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, Washington, and lastly, Oklahoma. David will be greatly missed by family, extended family, and close friends.
Preceded in death by his mother, Carol Henderson; brother, James (Jim) Henderson; son, John Henderson; and step-mother, Carol R. Henderson. He is survived by his father, Jack Henderson; two children, Michael Henderson and Meredith Falcus; granddaughter Lola Henderson; brother, Mark (Tracy) Henderson; sister-in-law, Lisa Henderson; nieces and nephews, Adam Henderson, Courtney (Todd) Cornelius, James “Alex” Henderson, Robert (Becca) Henderson, Bradley (Chelsea) Henderson, Jacob (Louisa) Henderson; his beloved cats (aka “the boys”), Humphrey and Franklin; extended family and the mother of his children, Pamela Bowen.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn, Ohio, 45324. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until the time of the service at 7:00PM. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to SICSA, or Tenth Life.
