Donald Lee Hild, age 88 of Beavercreek, formerly of Piqua, passed away Saturday November 4, 2023. He was born June 25, 1935 in Dayton, the son of the late Arthur and Helen (Vance) Hild.
A graduate of Oakwood High School and Bowling Green State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. Earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations. Owner of Hild Insurance Agency in Dayton, Insurance and Benefits Specialist for Montgomery County, Risk and Safety Manager for Largo, FL, a Risk and Insurance Management Consultant with Siver Insurance Management Consultants of St. Petersburg, FL, Assistant Risk Manager for the State of Nevada, and Account Representative for the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation.
Don served as President of the Florida Central Chapter of the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA). He spoke before public entity managers and officials at national seminars on methods to successfully self-insure property and casualty risks. As president of the Wayne Optimist Club in Huber Heights, he established an essay contest for Junior High Students and organized a youth tennis tournament. He was president of the YWCA Dance Club of Dayton and enjoyed many dances with his teacher and wife Connie. Don was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling, woodworking, reading and organic gardening, and was a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Douglas; and brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Gloria Hild of West Jefferson, OH. Survivors include his wife, Connie; two daughters, Kimberly Hild (Vince Cox) of Round Rock, TX, Christina Hild of Dayton; a grandson, Alexander Hunter-Hild of Dayton; as well as other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family.
