Doris Reed Obituary

Doris M. Reed, age 87, of Fairborn passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Wickshire of Fairborn. Doris was born June 3, 1935, in Latham, Ohio the daughter of the late Raleigh and Shirley (Kinner) Sellards.

On December 25, 1955, Doris married Lewis D. Reed.  They were high school sweethearts, and graduates of South Point High School. Lewie started his career in education working for Fairborn City Schools and they built thier lives in Fairborn. Doris was a long time member of Fairborn First Baptist Church. They raised two children, Melissa and Lewis.

Doris spent her career working as a secretary for Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring after 17 years of service. In addition to being a diligent worker, Doris enjoyed spending time with her family often at the family cabins in Hocking County. She was an excellent seamstress as well as a phenomenal hostess for family functions. Doris will be missed deeply by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Lewis D. Reed; siblings, Carolyn Forbush, Terry Sellards, Danny Sellards, Charles Sellards, and Ronnie Sellards.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (James) White; son, Lewis B. (Rose Minch) Reed; grandchildren, Ben (Meredith) White, Ashley (Shawn) Boyko, Ethan Reed, Tanner Reed; great-grandchildren, Georgia and Alice Boyko; siblings, Peggy Crews (Pete); Elizabeth Copley; Larry Sellards (Pam); Sue Davis; and Judith Partin.

A private service will be held by the family.
