Dorothy W. Haney

Dorothy W. Haney, age 94 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday January 25, 2020 at her residence.  She was born May 13, 1925 in West Liberty, KY, the daughter of the late Kendall and Stella (Gevedon) Barker.  Dorothy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Fairborn; and she loved to work in her yard tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Byron in 2018; a brother, Glen Prater; and sister, Madia Voshall.  Survivors include two sons, Ted Randall Haney and Roger Dale Haney, both of Fairborn; a grandson, Brian Scott Haney; two great-grandchildren, Jade Marie and Tyler Kirk; sister, Mona Rudd; sister-in-law, Oleania Reaper; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 30, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Matt Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
