Eugene S. "Gene" Gonzalez

Eugene S. “Gene” Gonzalez, age 69, of Fairborn passed away Friday, October 30, 2020. He was born June 20, 1951; the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Murias) Gonzalez. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Michael Gonzalez and sister, Kathy Coker. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Kathy; son, Mark Gonzalez, sisters, Cynthia Garcia, Melanie Coffman, and Michelle Gonzalez; brother, Tony Tatti; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Gene proudly served in the United States’ Army during the Vietnam War, and he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 1 PM at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W 3rd St, Dayton, OH 45417 with U.S. Army Honors. Following the inurnment, a lunch gathering of family and friends will be held at Gene and Kathy’s residence from 3 to 6 PM to continue to share in memories. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made out to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Gene.
