Fern Cooper, age 96 of Fairborn passed away Saturday October 7, 2023. She was born August 26, 1927, in Morehead, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Theodore and Lenora (Amburgey) Taylor.
She was a devoted member of the Beavercreek Nazarene Church and served as missionary president for many years and was a Sunday school teacher. Fern enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Cooper; three brothers, Asa Taylor, Jack Taylor, Sonny Taylor; and sister, Debora Burks. Fern is survived by three children, Michael (Pat) Cooper, Carolyn Calahan, Constance (Jimmy) Mayne; six grandchildren, Angela (Michael) August, Ginger (Rob) Justus, Melissa (Mickey) Stinson, Kelly O’Donnell, Renee (Michael) Gibbs, Bradley Cooper; eight great-grandchildren, Allyson Stinson, Samuel August, Magnolia O’Donnell, Liberty O’Donnell, Erin (John) Pfleiderer, Shelbi (Kyle) Boone, Zachary Justus, Alexander Justus; great great-grandson, Brett Boone; two sisters, Barbara (Don) McKee, Patsy Boston; as well as extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023, at 12 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Chaplain Jay Galle officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be made to the family at www.BeltonStroup.com.
